The ghostwrite x WNBA “Game Face” 100% Blind Box, our final drop of 2024, was a series of firsts that will go down in ghostwrite history, WNBA history, sports league licensing history, collector history and, quite possibly, all human history. But we’re really not hyperbolic.
This was our first time releasing 100% sized ghosts to the public. It was our first time selling ghosts as blind boxes. It was our first time creating chase elements and parallels for ghosts. It was our first release of ghosts featuring the likenesses of actual human beings. It was our first time working with NYT best selling author, Shea Serrano, and analytics trailblazer, Kirk Goldsberry. It was our first time being interviewed by Hannah Storm. It was the first time doing a live unboxing with Gary Vee. It was our largest release to date both in terms of the total number of ghosts being sold and the total number of people who participated in the Blind Dutch Auction to purchase them. It was our first time working with AFA as an official grading partner of ghosts. It was our first time introducing our new Send to StockX program. And, it was our first time working with the WNBA and most certainly will not be our last.
Phew. That’s a lot of first. Let’s take a look at the stats.

The ghostwrite team went all out with marketing for this release. To start, this link is the ‘if you only click one link to learn everything you need to know about the WNBA ghostwrite release, click here’ link, but if want to go deeper on certain subjects, we have individual blog posts on:
- Our grading partnership with AFA
- Our famous fan Aubrey Plaza
- Special player seeding
- Our partnership with Kirk Goldsberry and Shea Serrano
- Our ‘Send to StockX’ program
Here are a few of our favorite videos, including Hannah Storm of ESPN fame interviewing our CEO, and our Head of Design, our interview of Shea Serrano where we talked through his thought process for his Game Face content, and live unboxing the first case with Gary Vee on his channel.
Finally, if you are looking to buy or sell cases or individual WNBA ghosts, there’s plenty of liquidity on the secondary market. Head on over to StockX and place a bid or you can join our Discord to buy and sell the players and parallels you’re hunting for.
