The third release in the Schrödinger’s ghost franchise happened on May 6, 2025. It’s a hand-painted, single-color, partner-less canvas of a hue that exists somewhere on the color wheel between pure orange and pure red. If you missed it the first time, you can read the full story of “Orange Vibe” — HERE.

Now let’s get to the auction recap:

Schrödinger’s ghost Orange Vibe Auction Recap

The three-day Blind Dutch Auction for the ghostwrite “Schrödinger’s ghost: Orange Vibe” 400% ghost ran from May 6th through the 8th. You, the market, our adoring fans and community members, set the Clearing Price. Here’s what happened:

  • Total ghosts sold: 50
  • Total bids: 78
  • Total bidders: 62
  • People who bid for one ghost: 46
  • People who bid for two ghosts: 16
  • Highest Bid: $1,252
  • Clearing Price: $150

Among the 16 people who bid for two ghosts, eight of them were able to secure two for their collections. Two of the winners bid exactly $150.

95% of winners paid less for the ghost(s) than the amount they bid. For a quick economics lesson of why that matters, let’s look at the top bidder. They placed a bid of $1,252 but only had to pay $150 to purchase their “Orange Vibe” ghost. Assuming their bid of $1,252 represents their true value of the ghost, that buyer is left with $1,102 of excess value associated with their purchase. Remember, price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

Hurray for the elegant beauty of market-based pricing.
