This a brief list of the most significant “Series 1” releases of collectibles and vinyl toys from the past 50 years, with the exception of one other…

In May of 2026, ghostwrite released their “Vol. 1” 100% Blind Box collection of ghosts.

It’s not often you get to witness history in the making so we suggest you take note of this exact moment.

Here’s what you need to know about this release.

Blind Box Math

Blind box ghosts are what we call “100%” size – 2.75” tall x 1.125” wide. They are sold in “blind boxes”, which means you won’t know which ghost you get until you open the box. The 100% blind boxes come in cases, and each case contains 12 blind boxed ghosts.

Here are the key stats:

  • Cases produced = 1,412
  • ghosts per case = 12
  • ghosts in the set = 17
  • New designs in the set = 3
  • Total parallels = 6
  • Rare Inserts = 6
  • Total unique ghost designs = 108
  • Average hits per case = 1.2

Blind box ghosts operate almost identically to trading cards – hence the trading card terminology above like “parallel”, “insert”, and “hit”. If you’re a card collector, you know these words well, and you also probably understand the experience. When designing this product, it was that experience that we’ve tried to replicate – like chasing the 1/1 from a particular year!

The majority of the 100% ghosts included in our “Vol. 1″ Blind Box collection are designs that have been released in the past as 400% ghosts (11” tall) or are inspired by a past release. We’re calling them “Classic Tracks”. There are also three brand new designs, created especially for this release, that have never been seen before. We’re calling those ghost “New Stories”.

In this way, the ghostwrite “Vol. 1” 100% Blind Box collection simultaneously honors our past while we move forward confidently in new and exciting ways.

Here’s how the set list breaks down:

The Set List

The New Stories

Because time is short and attention spans are even shorter, we’ve conveniently linked all of the “Classic Tracks” in the table above to the corresponding 400% ghost that the design was borrowed from or inspired by. Here’s some more info on the three new designs:

First up is “Boy”. The design inspiration for this ghost is based on a real Boy who sometimes prefers to wear his t-shirts backwards and appreciates the value of a good set of swim googles. He’s a pro Minecraft builder who can terraform and build diagonally when necessary.

The next design to contemplate is “Girl”. It shouldn’t surprise you that this design is also based on a real girl. She like likes to wear a checkered hoodie that may or not may be too big for her and once dyed her hair a specific shade of neon yellow/green to match Billie Eilish’s. The gecko’s name on her shoulder is Melvin and he’s based on a real gecko too.

The last new design is called, “Specter”. A ghost. A phantom. An apparition. A figment of your imagination. A hidden message only audible when the record is spun backwards. Better call Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston.

Parallels and Inserts

ghost parallels function just like trading card parallels. The parallel variants have different visual elements, and they are produced in much lower numbers, making them more rare and more valuable to collectors.

Here is the lineup of the base design and five parallels From left to right – Base, Sapphire, Emerald, Gold, Chrome, and Fire.

ParallelQuantity Per PlayerApprox. Odds Per Case
Sapphire501 per 1.6 cases
Emerald251 per 3 cases
Gold101 per 8 cases
Chrome51 per 16 cases
Fire11 per 63 cases

In addition to the ghost parallels, there are five trophy inserts included in the ghostwrite “Vol. 1” blind box collection that are even more rare and exclusive. These trophy ghosts bear our ghostwrite logo across their chests along with a “1” – the volume of this collection.

As with our previous Blind Box collections, there is also the extremely elusive, extremely rare 1/1 ghostwrite branded insert in the collection. If you were extremely farsighted, it would look like this:

Transparent Supply

Production transparency supports true collectability. By being transparent and open about the scarcity of our ghosts, we create long-term value for collectors. That’s why we’ve made it as easy as possible to know, for each design, exactly how many ghosts exist.

The numbering on the bottom of the foot of these 100% ghosts will show, “0925.X”. This means that this ghost was designed in September of 2025. The “X” will be an actual number that indicates how many of that particular ghost has been produced. If for example you pulled a Base parallel, the bottom of its foot would read “0925.900”, and look like this…

Parting Words and Thoughts

For every case of ghostwrite “Vol. 1” that you purchase in the Blind Dutch Auction, you will receive one free plastic case to keep your biggest hits safe. They look like the cases pictured here but do not include any ghosts inside of them. You can also purchase more of these cases on our site: HERE.
